5/6 Class Term 3, Weeks 8 & 9
This fortnight in the Grade 5/6 classroom, we have been looking at showing resilience. It is a good thing to be challenged so that we can learn and grow, and it is how we respond to these challenges that matters most. We talked about having a growth mindset, bouncing back when things get tricky, and making sure we use every opportunity that comes our way to grow as learners and people.
In our text study, we have been reading Bindi by Kirli Saunders. We have reflected on the main symbols and ideas in the story so far, including drought, connection to Country, fire, loss and healing.
In maths, we have been playing lots of dice games to explore positive and negative integers. We have learned to compare and order positive integers, and this week we will be applying this knowledge to budgeting and money.
To all Grade 5/6 families, have a relaxing school holiday break and we look forward to seeing you back and ready for our final term of 2026! 😊
