Blueback Book Reviews
In Grade 5/6, we have just finished reading our Text Study book ‘Blueback’ by Tim Winton.
Blueback is a beautiful story about a boy named Abel Jackson who grows up by the ocean at Longboat Bay with his mum, Dora. Abel loves the sea and becomes friends with a huge blue groper fish he calls Blueback.
As Abel gets older, he learns that the ocean and its creatures are not always safe. Some people want to take too much from the sea, and Abel must decide how to protect the place he loves.
This story is all about friendship, caring for the environment, and standing up for what is right. It reminds us how important it is to look after our oceans for the future.
We have written our own book reviews about the book. We can’t wait to watch the movie next week!
