3/4 Class News Weeks 8 & 9

The last couple of weeks of term have been spent finalising speeches for the Lion’s Club Public Speaking Competition. Students have put a lot of time and effort into their speeches and are developing their confidence when delivering oral presentations to audiences.

Our class text this term was ‘Off We Go Around Australia’ where students had the opportunity to explore many parts of this wonderful country through illustrations and adventures presented in the story. Students completed a final research project on a place of interest for themselves to complete the wonderful adventures taken this term.

In maths, we have been developing multiplication and division number fact recall as well as mental strategies to assist us when solving problems. Students have also explored length, capacity and mass for Measurement, and have begun learning about probability and chance as well.

Students have also continued to build on their class routines, emotional regulation strategies and organisational skills throughout the term, which has had a positive impact on maintaining a calm and focussed learning environment.
