As we move further into the term, we are exploring different areas of the curriculum in Maths. Our class has been learning about Length and recently had the fun task of measuring each other's heights, recording the measurements as decimals, and then ordering these numbers from smallest to largest. We noticed that the difference between our shortest and tallest person in our grade is over 40cm!
Last Stratchat, Grade 3-4 introduced you to some of the clever poetry that they have been writing. This edition, they continue to explore the world of poetry, specifically through the device of ‘sound.’ Here is a small selection of ‘Onomatopoeia’ poetry.
Baby birds
Cheep, cheep goes the baby birds
Flap, flap keep trying, baby birds!

Squeak goes the basketball, into the hoop
Flop goes the basketball, down the hoop
The hot, spicy stadium
Bounce, bounce, goes the ball
Sloop goes the water from the players
Chirps from the crowd. It’s like the NBA!

Slurp! Delicious carbonara is the best!
The sauce is the best too.
It has ham, cheese, and the most important thing? Pasta!
You also have to have a drink – gulp, gulp! Ahh
I think I can last years with Carbonara!
