Students in Year 1/2 have been building their grammar knowledge and confidence as writers. They have been learning about nouns and noun phrases, including the difference between common and proper nouns. Students have also explored verbs and verb phrases, identifying different types of verbs such as thinking, feeling, saying and doing verbs.

Using this knowledge, students are working towards expanding their sentences by adding more detail to make their writing clearer and more interesting for the reader. We are very proud of the effort and enthusiasm they are showing as they develop their skills as young writers.
