Foundation/Grade 1

Foundation and Grade 1 students have continued to settle into the routine of our classroom while building on friendships and getting to know everyone. They have all adjusted to the timetable with specialist classes in the afternoons.

Handwriting has been a big focus with daily lessons on letter formation, pencil grip and how we sit at our tables. Foundations have continued to practise the formation of the first six sounds we have been learning about while the Year Ones have been learning to spell and write high frequency words.

Maths has seen lots of counting by ones and tens. We have put numbers in order while counting collections of objects. Patterns have been a fun way to sort objects according to size, colour and shape.
