Foundation/Grade 1

This fortnight, Foundation Grade 1, have been busy as we continued to consolidate our sounds in phonics and apply this knowledge to our reading and writing. We all participated in a “Cold Write” about The Box and the students produced many creative pieces featuring magic, flying objects, unusual pets and superpowers. We have been practising rhyming and using rhyming words to create sentences that include a ‘who’, ‘what’ and ‘where’.

In Maths, we have continued building our counting skills through addition to make larger groups. Students enjoyed creating skip-counting rockets while practising counting forwards and backwards.

In Week 6, we are looking forward to our author visit with Tracey Kennedy on Tuesday 26th and participating in National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 27th.
