F/1 Class News Weeks 8 & 9

Over the last fortnight, the Foundation and Grade 1 students have been busy consolidating their phonics knowledge and applying it to their daily reading and writing tasks. We have been practising partner reading and discussing the qualities that make a great reader, speaker and listener.

In Writing, our learning about butterflies from Science provided inspiration for our written work. Students focused on using correct punctuation and writing complete sentences that communicate an idea.

In Maths, we continued building our understanding of addition and explored how this knowledge can help us solve subtraction problems. This week, we also investigated 2D shapes and discovered how different shapes can be used to create pictures.
