Class 1/2 News

On Wednesday the 24th of May the F/1/2 students enjoyed participating in the National Simultaneous Storytime for 2025. This year’s story was The Truck Cat, read to the children by the author Deborah Frenkel. After the reading the illustrator Danny Snell demonstrated how to draw the main character Tinka the cat.

 To build on this the Grade 1/2 class have enjoyed extending their comprehension skills rereading and discussing the text, as well as planning their very own narrative inspired by The Truck Cat. Students planned, drafted, published, and illustrated their own stories titled ‘My Adventurous Cat …..’, linking this week’s suffix -ous into our title. These stories are proudly displayed in the classroom for anyone wanting to read them!
