Kitchen Garden weeks 3 and 4
Week 3 and 4 Kitchen Garden
The last two weeks in the kitchen garden have seen all classes learning about healthy food guidelines and the structure of plants.
In week 3 we talked about breakfast and the students were very creative in making their animal toast, where they spread Nutella and made faces using bananas, strawberries, apple and blueberries.
Week 4 saw us move out into the garden and starting our planting. F/1 made newspaper seed tubes and planted beans. 1/2 planted kale, broccoli and beans in the garden. 3/4 planted a variety of seeds in small pots and are growing them in the glasshouse while the 5/6 class worked in teams and planted broccoli, cauliflower, spinach and cabbage in the gardens.
Over the next few weeks we will be carefully watering these as they grow and recording the growth of the plants.
