Kitchen Garden and Music

Weeds, seeds, bugs and flowers.

Students have been keeping an eye on bugs and plant life in our garden.  Hopefully we will be sending more seed packets for your own gardens.

 In the kitchen students have been learning about Indonesian dishes, to compliment their learning about the Indonesian names for fruit and vegetables in their Indonesian classes. The junior classes made Martabak Manis (Indonesian pancakes) and the 3/4 class made a delicious Nasi Goreng. It was good to see students prepared to try foods that they’ve never tasted before.

 Year 6 were onto their Graduation cake. The cooking went well.  Decorations to be completed next week, in time for the big celebration.  The year 5s made some very cute Christmas cookies.

 It’s been a rewarding week seeing the students working well with their teams and helping each other with decisions and recipes.

 In the music room

 Students are practising their Christmas songs in preparation for Carols by Candlelight and Awards Night. The next couple of weeks will be full of holiday season fun and celebration.
