In the garden

So much to do!

A change of season always means lots of work to be done in the garden. Students work in groups, so there are always many tasks happening at the same time. This week they were harvesting, making structures to hold climbing beans and snow peas, planting seeds, planting seedlings, and keeping up with weeding and general maintenance. Meanwhile some students were tasked with prepping the SPS grown pumpkin for pumpkin soup. Phew! That’s exhausting! Seeds have been saved and will be sent home next week so SPS families can plant their own pumpkin crops.

A shout out to Brown Wigg Stratford, our local hardware store on Industrial Road, who offer great local knowledge advice as well as donations of locally raised seedlings. Thank you.
